MIGRATION ADVOCACY & MEDIA AWARDS WINNERS!
The Commission on Filipinos Overseas congratulates the 10 best media works from the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines, for winning this year’s Migration Advocacy and Media (MAM) Awards. Now on its fifth year, the MAM Awards was conceived in 2011 by the CFO under the leadership of Sec. Imelda M. Nicolas, to recognize the significant role of the media in raising public awareness on issues related to Filipino migration, the challenges of migration and development, and advocate the cause and promote a positive image of Filipinos overseas.
1. HIKES IN CONTAINER CARGO TARIFFS WORRY BALIKBAYAN BOX SENDERS - BEST PRINT (ARTICLE)

Airing every first Sunday of the month, the TV program explores the rich and varied stories and issues of overseas Filipinos in Europe.
6. KAPUSO MO, JESSICA SOHO - BEST TV SHOW (EPISODIC)

The special episode features a story about an OFW mother’s unconditional love for the Kuwaiti children that she is taking care of. She teaches them the Filipino language and shares with them the Filipino culture and values.

The website is an online resource for Filipino migrants in Japan, which includes articles and features of general interest, information which can help migrants in their daily living, Q&A section on immigration, and stories from the Philippines.
9. PINOYS TO CANADA - BEST INTERACTIVE MEDIA (BLOG)

The blog provides useful tips and information about working and living in Canada, immigration rules and policies, and issues and challenges faced by Filipino migrants.
10. MISS NOTHING - BEST ADVERTISEMENT
The advertisement is dedicated to overseas Filipinos who will not be able to visit the Philippines on Christmas, as well as their families and friends back home. It is part of Google Philippines’ “Balikbayan” campaign, which aims to enable Filipino families “share the everyday” through the website’s various services, from social media and messaging to videos.
The panel of judges for the MAM Awards is headed by CFO Executive Director Mary Grace A. Tirona with members from the different migration and media institutions, which include Philippine Migrants Rights Watch, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Philippines Information Agency, and National Press Club of the Philippines.
The Awarding Ceremonies, which will form part of the annual celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos and International Migrants Day, will be on December 18, 2015 at SSS Magsaysay Hall, Quezon City.
