The Commission on Filipinos Overseas congratulates and welcomes Undersecretary Astravel Pimentel-Naik as its newly appointed Executive Director. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte appointed Usec. Pimentel-Naik on February 6, 2018. She took her oath of office at Malacañang on February 13, 2018.
Usec. Pimentel-Naik values excellence in governance and integrity grounded in deep faith in God.
She rose from the ranks starting government service as a front desk officer. Prior to her appointment to CFO, she served as Assistant Secretary at the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office and Political Affairs Officer at the Office of Senator Aquilino “Koko” L. Pimentel III. She is also the National Chairperson of the Committee on Membership of PDP Laban. Usec. Pimentel-Naik is determined to help President Duterte push for reforms to ensure that Filipinos, including those living and working overseas, will enjoy the fruits of both their toil and the country’s resources.
The CFO was established in 1980 and is an attached agency of the Office of the President of the Philippines. Its mandate includes maintaining and strengthening ties with overseas Filipinos and promoting migrant welfare and interests.
