Mandaluyong City – The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and Go Negosyo officially signed on March 26, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote entrepreneurship among overseas Filipinos and their families.
In his message, Go Negosyo’s founder, Joey Concepcion, emphasized the significance of this partnership in connecting overseas Filipinos with their roots in the Philippines.
“The idea is to help our overseas Filipinos, especially those permanently living abroad, whose home is still in the Philippines. We aim to engage them with their roots,” he stated. Concepcion also highlighted the need for collaboration between the public and private sectors to effectively reach their target audience.
CFO Secretary Dante “Klink” M. Ang II discussed the role of the CFO in this initiative.
“We intend to change the minds of Filipino entrepreneurs. We can connect more Filipino small-medium scale business owners (SMEs) with entrepreneurs in the Filipino diaspora, and maybe some of them can be partners. Now we will hopefully bring to the table the expertise of the Filipinos living abroad. And hopefully through the partnership, we can do more for the Philippine economy,” Sec. Ang said.
Through this collaboration, CFO and Go Negosyo aim to create a vibrant ecosystem for Filipino entrepreneurs both in the Philippines and overseas. This will involve providing mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities to overseas Filipinos through Go Negosyo’s various programs and services, such as the Kapatid Mentor Me Program. The agreement will also integrate Go Negosyo’s programs, projects, and activities into the CFO’s BaLinkBayan Project platform.
Key attendees at the MOU signing included Go Negosyo Executive Director Thermina Ann Akram and CFO Project Management Division Chief Marita Del Rosario-Apattad. Other participants are Patricia Marie Salvador, Jirus Madlangbayan, and Alvin Cabuco of the CFO’s BaLinkBayan team, and Ms. Eva Pasagui of Go Negosyo.
